With eight years on the City Council and over twenty years of experience running my own consulting firm, I’m ready to roll up my sleeves—supporting what’s already in motion and working alongside the community to shape what’s next.

I often say Monona proud!  I couldn’t be more grateful to be living here.  I have thoroughly enjoyed contributing to Monona’s health and growth as an elected official and a community member.  I love the passion, dedication, and expertise the city staff and hundreds of residents offer this community daily – through Committees, Commissions, Boards, and a myriad of community organizations.    

I’m clear-eyed about the challenges we face, sensitive to our realities, and cognizant of the need to use limited resources wisely.  In my professional life, as an Executive Director and Consultant, I have guided and advanced the work of over one hundred nonprofit organizations by strategically and creatively solving organizational challenges, spurring smart growth, building a consensus vision, and collaboratively working to guide principles/values, and goals.  This mix of experiences will be especially useful as Monona works on a new Comprehensive Plan, including shaping the future of prime re-development areas of Monona Drive and Broadway.

Other priorities as Mayor will be:

• Fiscal responsibility and accountability

• Support of our dedicated, hard-working City staff

• The effective and safe roll-out of Madison Metro bus service, including Paratransit

• Strategic expansion of both Monona’s housing diversity (e.g. condos, townhomes, pocket neighborhoods) and housing affordability

• Timely construction of a new public safety building/civic center

• Support of a public/private partnership with Friends of San Damiano (FOSD) to ensure they generate the financial resources necessary to cover all property operating expenses and are successful in a capital campaign to fulfill the promise of the approved Master Plan
